NPD & NCD Crisis Response Louisiana Team
October 23-29th, 2022
Lake Charles was hit directly by two hurricanes, only six weeks apart, in the fall of 2020. Hurricane Laura’s intense winds did tremendous damage: ripping off roofs and bringing many trees down on homes and businesses. A month and a half later, Hurricane Delta caused more damage still. The rain from this storm caused substantial flooding, and flooding isn’t covered by homeowners’ insurance. The mission of ReachGlobal is working to show God’s love and compassion through hurricane relief and recovery, for the purpose of outreach, evangelism, and church planting. Their plan is to be assisting Lake Charles rebuild (physically, emotionally, spiritually) for long term impact. Plan to serve as God leads you and be open to ministering to the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of those affected. Living every moment as a conduit for Christ can be life changing in this fertile environment.
